Our team

Jevaun Bishop started playing basketball at age of ten, but he didn’t truly fall in love with the game until playing for Baltimore Raven Terrill Suggs’ sponsored AAU team (Team Sizzle) in the 6th grade. Jevaun played AAU ball for four years., averaging 20 points a game. Jevaun went on to play varsity basketball at Kasa High School. There, he led a team that had never won a single game to a city championship and undefeated season.

At the age of 18, right after his senior season, Jevaun was diagnosed with an enlarged heart. The doctors told Jevaun he couldn’t play high-level basketball anymore. He was devastated. Dreams of playing college basketball that had almost been a reality vanished like smoke.

Jevaun was forced to accept this new reality. He could never play basketball competitively again.
Jevaun’s love for the game made forgetting basketball unthinkable, and while he couldn’t play anymore, he could still teach others to play. Jevaun developed an enormous passion for training others. He started out training his little brother James Bishop by taking him to local courts to work on his shooting and ball handling. Jevaun trained his brother James 3 to 4 times a day while recording and documenting his progress to focus on areas of improvement. As a result of Jevaun’s training, James saw major improvement in his game including scoring 40 points in AAU games and becoming one of the top-rated middle school point guards in Maryland.

As a freshman James made the varsity team at Mount St. Joseph High School which is a powerhouse high school program. James credits his big brother Jevaun for much of his success. James currently has 10 division 1 scholarship offers. The offers are from N.C State University (ACC), Kansas State University (Big 12), LSU (SEC), Temple University (AAC), Virginia Commonwealth University (A10), University of Tulsa (AAC), University of South Florida (AAC), Towson University (CAA), Coastal Carolina University (BSC), Rice University (C-USA) and University of Central Florida (AAC). With the Bmore Basketball Academy, Jevaun’s passion and purpose is to train others how to reach their fullest potential mentally and physically to become the best basketball player on the court.
